World Religion

Assalamualaikum WBT :)

Since aku dekat INTI skg, better aku post something. Internet pun tengah laju umpama air terjun yang mengalir dekat Sungai Congkak heheheh :D

So yeahhhhhh, yesterday I went to Batu Caves w some of my friends to experience Thaipusam. Sumpah cuak gila wey! Well, you know that place kan... orang cucuk2 lah bagai. The night before tu my roommate and I google everything about thaipusam. Untuk menambahkan seram lah konon konon hahaha :D

Well thaipusam is actually a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (its either January or February). Ada yang cakap, the festival actually commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan and Lord Subramaniam. Kalau nak tahu kat depan batu caves kan ada satu huge statue. Hah itulah statue of Lord Murugan and he was the son of Shiva and Parvati. Tapi bila aku google, ada  sites yang cakap, the festival macam untuk memperingati the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a Vel "spear" so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. Well, IDK the true story so correct me if I'm wrong~

So basically, diorang yang pergi thaipusam ni will carry something on their shoulders or head for example macam a pot of milk or a massive 'vel kavadi' which is an altar up to few meters tall, decorated with peacock feathers or flowers and attached to the devotee thru 108 vels pierced into the skin on the chest and back. This piercing thingy is quite scary tho. Seeing them doing that in real life is 10 times scarier than watching a horror movie. Hahah, tah lah. I'm not the type of person yang suka dengan benda2 macam ni :o So, along the way, relatives and friends akan teman diorang sampai ke Batu Caves to show their support for their loved ones. They will dance and dance and dance macam orang separuh sedar jugak lah :o Semangat habis! Tapi cuak gak ah nak pergi duk dekat diorang heheheh :p

*ramai gila kot orang, pahtu semua tengok macam nak cekik kami je :p*

For those yang baru first time tengok depan mata, will see this as something yang strange and painful but to them, who performs the ritual will act like nothing happened! And they will not show any physical responses contoh macam sakit ke pedih ke ngilu ke :o sebab they believe that they are 'protected' by the spiritual and mental endurance. I was the one yang takut tengok diorang buat gitu..

Besides Indians, I saw one chinese guy duk p cucuk2 jugak. And the people around him were also chinese! Interesting... Maybe they also believe that if they do the rituals, their sins will be forgiven by God.. Or diorang chinese yang beragama Hindu? Entah. I'm not sure tho.

Ramai jugak Indian guys yang shaved their hair and then colorkan kepala diorang dengan warna yellow... Pastu ramailah orang yang ada kat luar kuil tu tawarkan perkhidmatan mencukur rambut.. Kaya seyh gitu... So, motif kitorang pergi sana just for our world religion's assignment which contribute 10% to our carry marks. I hope its worth it la :D tapi tk sempat nak panjat tangga yang banyak dan tinggi tu cuz there were so many people there and we don't wanna take the risk so we decided to just take photos (ber-background-kan tangga tu) heheheh.

Last but not least, I saw some of them masuk and mandi dalam sungai tepi highway tu. It doesn't looked like sungai tho... I mean a clear sungai... Dengan sampah sarapnya kat situ. Serious weird. Why do they mandi dekat that sungai? Why.... I'm still confused...

Anyway, lets hope the best for everyone. It was an interesting journey! An experienced that I couldn't buy :D (but I don't think I wanna go back there xD Once is enough :P)

Alhamdulillah, everything went pretty well!

p/s : Gambar yang menakutkan aku tak berani nak letak. Hehehehe seramlaaa :p and oh ya, sorry bahasa rojak gila! Huahuahua
